Flash Website
Hi
So just received from Chris the ‘as finished as it can be with the time we have left’ flash file for the website. Its also at the temporary address of http://www.chimpville.co.uk as Chris has done a stella job and managed to get it uploaded. We have since talked and discussed the project as it stands, gone over not just the issues but also what has gone right. The currant main concern is the resolution of the transitions, without this jump to a lower res it would be fairly seamless. I believe this is fixable if we spend some time working closely on the video compression, however we just ran out of time for this level of collaboration and had to remember that this was a solo project for our own work first and foremost. I think to make it work seamlessly I will need to gain a better understanding of how flash deals with video files and Chris vice-versa with After Effects, however but I believe we chose the right way to go about it. Once it’s worked out it can be applied to all the transitions easily.
On the plus side we are both very pleased to be at the stage we have got to. It’s easy to say it’s not perfect, but the fact is all lot of the hard work has been done. The design decided, animation done and website built. We have built from the ground up a system that allows us to add more street scene artwork and more episodes with relative ease. That, along with a site design that involves you into this fictional world, were our two main goals and ones we have gone a long way to achieving.
